Dear Colleagues.
This year, the hybrid Fall AGU annual meeting will take place in San Francisco, CA, USA, and online – 11-15 December 2023.
We hope you will consider submitting an abstract to our session “SH029: Space Weather Collaboration, Cooperation, and Coordination”, which is intended to pull together all aspects of collaboration, cooperation, and coordination across various research, engineering, mitigation, and socio-economic areas space weather. The full session details are below.
To submit an abstract to our session, please go to: https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/190143 (you may need to log in first) and click on the “Submit an Abstract to this Session” link near the top of the page. The deadline for submissions is: 02 August 2023 23:59 EDT – 03 August 2023 03:59 GMT/UT; the full Fall AGU 2023 Meeting details are here: https://www.agu.org/fall-meeting.
We look forward to seeing you either in person or virtually in and from Chicago in December,
Mario (on behalf of all the SH029 Convenors).
SH029: Space Weather Collaboration, Cooperation, and Coordination (Collaborative SH and SM co-convened session, with SA, P, NH, and SY cross-listings)
There is a need to more-effectively come together to tackle the various research, engineering, mitigation, and socio-economic concerns necessary to better understand space weather and the impacts both ‘everyday’ and ‘severe’ space weather can have on our society. Such activities cannot, and should not, be done in isolation to achieve the best possible progress across all aspects of space weather (and including space-climate considerations) for humanity.
In this year’s session, the nineth incarnation since 2015, the panel and contributed abstracts will focus on how we can make the most of collaboration, cooperation, and coordination across space weather globally on all scales (local, regional, national, international, and interdisciplinary) looking at pathways, strategies, roadmaps, and suchlike, while also identifying opportunities for the future.
For this session, we welcome contributions on all aspects of space weather including observations/measurements and theory/modelling as well as direct engineering considerations for space-weather impacts.
