Call for abstracts: NAM/UKSP 2014: Turbulence, Instabilities and Shocks Across Astrophysics

Dear Colleagues

A session entitled “Turbulence, Instabilities and Shocks Across Astrophysics” will be held at NAM/UKSP 2014. You are warmly invited to participate in this session. Abstracts should be submitted through the online system before the deadline of 1st April 2014.

Invited Speakers:
Prof. David Burgess (Queen Mary University, UK)
Prof. Axel Brandenburg (Nordita, Sweden)

Session description: Turbulence, instabilities and shock waves are critical to understanding some of the most fundamental and, as yet, unsolved problems in astrophysics, e.g., coronal heating, magnetic reconnection, jets, winds and outflows on all scales, planetary atmospheres, interstellar clouds, accretion discs, galactic evolution and the origin of the cosmic scale magnetic field. The aim of the session is to bring together different research communities to share perspectives and methodology, to discuss progress and challenges in various applications.

Chairs: Youra Taroyan (Aberystwyth), Khurom Kiyani (Warwick)
