RAS specialist discussion meeting: Energetic particles in the heliosphere & their influence on space weather and space climate

Dear all,

There will be a RAS Specialist Meeting on “Energetic particles in the heliosphere and their influence on space weather and space climate” (see link here: https://www.ras.org.uk/component/gem/?id=298) on the 14th November this year.

The aim of this meeting is to discuss our current understanding of a wide range of energetic particle populations and processes throughout the heliosphere . Invited speakers so far for the meeting have been confirmed to be Prof. Rami Vainio from the University of Turku (discussing solar energetic particles), Prof. Harm Moraal from North-West University in South Africa (discussing galactic cosmic ray transport and observations), Prof. Chris Owen from MSSL (magnetospheric particles), and Prof. Philippa Browning from the University of Manchester (particle acceleration in solar flares).

Abstracts are now solicited for oral and poster presentations for the meeting, so please send your title and abstract, as well as whether you want to present a poster or talk, to s.r.thomas@pgr.reading.ac.uk by 8th October (note updated date).
