UKSP council would like to highlight this year’s call for RAS Specialist Discussion meetings (below) to the solar physics community.
RAS Discussion Meetings are held free of charge to the organisers, and provide a lively forum for very the focused topics that their convenors propose. Reports on the meetings are regularly written up by convenors and submitted to Astronomy & Geophysics (the RAS’s magazine) to highlight the topic to a broader audience.
There is a strong tradition of outstanding solar and heliospheric meetings as part of this programme
UKSP has had a strong tradition of outstanding discussion meetings in recent years, and it is important that this continue. These meetings form part of the life-blood of UKSP science, giving us the chance to connect with each other in person, and raise the profile of heliospheric science within the very broad UK astronomical community. We would like to strongly encourage you to keep this tradition going by submitting your session proposals to Lyndsay in response to this call.
Kind regards,
Philippa & Dave.
