LOFAR-UK is a consortium of astronomers representing 23 British Institutes, making it the largest radio astronomy consortium in the country.
The LOw Frequency ARray, LOFAR, is a radio telescope comprising thousands of antennas grouped in ‘stations’ spread all over Europe including the UK. The array operates in a wide range of science areas, including solar physics and the effect of the Sun on the Earth.
