Special Issue “Recent Advances in Solar Physics” of Advances in Space Research – First Announcement

Ongoing research in solar physics continuously advances and deepens our understanding of basic physical processes operating in the solar interior, atmosphere and wind, and contributes to uncovering solar-terrestrial relations and forecasting space weather.

The main objective of this Special Issue (SI) of Advances in Space Research (ASR) is to highlight recent findings achieved in different branches of Solar Physics, presented during the 14th European Solar Physics Meeting (ESPM-14) in Dublin, Ireland, 8 – 12 September 2014. However, this SI will implement an open policy, so will not be limited to ESMP-14 contributions only: it will also welcome original, high-quality, relevant manuscripts that are not presented during ESPM-14.

All submitted manuscripts will be fully refereed. To assist the ASR Editors, Professor Valery M. Nakariakov and Dr Manolis K. Georgoulis will act as Guest Editors for this Issue.

We solicit manuscripts on various aspects of solar physics research for inclusion in this SI of ASR. Online submission via the ASR on-line submission system (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/advances-in-space-research/) will begin on 20 September 2014 and will end on 31 December 2014.
In order to respect all contributions, deadlines for submission, refereeing and proofing will be strictly kept. The anticipated final date for all accepted and proof-read contributions included in the SI is 30 June 2015. Accepted late papers due to submission delays or protracted refereeing may appear individually in later ASR volumes.
