The URSI UK Panel (https://ursi.org.uk/ and https://ursi.org.uk/ursi-uk- panel-membership) would like to expand to include URSI UK ECR (Early Career Representative) role for each commission.
We consider early career in this case to be less than or equal to 12 years post-phd, taking into account different experiences and routes such as part-time work, long-term leave, parental or caring responsibilities, or other factors.
The overall responsibilities of ECR are to work with: the relevant URSI UK commission representative to ensure that the commission is attractive to their early-career peers; and to the URSI UK Panel to support URSI UK event (e.g. URSI UK Symposium, etc.)
We welcome candidates to nominate themselves to apply for the URSI UK Panel ECR role for Commission H: Waves in Plasmas (https://www.ursi.org/ commission.php?id=H)
The interested candidates need to submit the information below to UK URSI commission H representative Oliver Allanson by 31 October 2025 by email (o.d.allanson@bham.ac.uk)
1. Your statement (envisage one to two paragraph(s)) for going for this role, which covers:
a. Your justification on why you fit this role (e.g. your expertise, existing link with URSI, etc.)
b. Your plan on engaging with URSI in general and the relevant Commission in particular
All best, and please let me know if any questions,
Oliver Allanson
