A new postdoctoral position is available in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) Planetary Magnetospheres Group (dias.ie/planetary), focusing on the solar wind in the inner heliosphere and its solar origins and evolution.
The project will investigate the structure and radial evolution of the solar wind using multi-spacecraft in situ measurements from Solar Orbiter, Parker Solar Probe, and near-Earth missions. Topics include solar wind variability across the solar cycle, stream evolution with heliocentric distance, and connections between solar wind conditions and planetary environments at Mercury and Earth.
The position is available for 1 year in the first instance, starting as soon as possible.
Closing date: 12:00 pm Friday 6 March 2026
