Research Assistant or Research Fellow in Coronal MHD Waves at the University of Warwick

The Centre for Fusion, Space & Astrophysics of the Physics Department of the University of Warwick, United Kingdom is seeking an ambitious post-doctoral researcher to work within the project “Magnetohydrodynamic wave diagnostics of the solar atmosphere in the era of transformative high-resolution observations”. The position is funded by an ERC Advanced Grant held by Valery Nakariakov. The project comprises of the analysis of data obtained with space-borne telescopes including SDO, Hinode, STEREO and RHESSI, and ground-based observational facilities, and analytical and numerical modelling of these phenomena, including high-performance MHD and plasma simulations, and plasma diagnostics.

You must hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in a relevant discipline. Experiences in solar data analysis, MHD wave theory and plasma physics will be a strong advantage.
