The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University is advertising for two Lectureships in Applied Mathematics (deadline 17th November). One may be awarded at Senior Lecturer level.
Note that “solar magnetohydrodynamics” is one of the areas of preference, because it fits with existing research in the Numerical Analysis group. So this is an opportunity to broaden solar research in Durham. However, solar physicists will need to convince the panel that their background is predominantly in numerical or theoretical work, rather than solely observations/data analysis. The appointees will be required to teach varied courses in applied (and potentially also pure) mathematics.
Informal queries may be directed to Dr Anthony Yeates.
