A 3.5 year STFC studentship, starting October 2014, is available on the research topic of “Magnetohydrodynamic waves in solar coronal rain”. The project will combine theory, numerical simulation with observations to understand wave dynamics manifested in cooling structures in the solar atmosphere.
The project is supervised by Dr Erwin Verwichte, in the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics, Department of Physics, at the University of Warwick. This project has full funding for 42 months for UK applicants.
